A Japanese eyewear maker Masunaga Optical employee displays the blinking "Wink Glasses", which are supposed to help prevent dry-eye when the users concentrate on video gaming or on the Internet. The Wink Glasses, powered by button batteries or USB, have a small sensor to watch how often the user blinks and to make the lens fog when the user keeps his eye open for five seconds without blinking.

Ahhh... technology.

Teijin Fibers Limited has announced the development of underwear that is purported to burn fat. Allegedly, all you have to do is wear it, let your thighs rub together, and the undies do all the work. The skivvies are made of a new high-strength nano-technology polyester fiber called "Nanofront."

According to Tenjin's website: "Nanofront is an ultra-fine fiber that is resistant to slippage, yet delicate and comfortable, while ensuring high absorbency and opaqueness. It is expected to be used for a wide range of applications, ranging from clothing to industrial materials."

Teijin claims that people who have worn the Nanofront underwear in experiments for 40 consecutive days lowered their body fat by “several percent” and consequently reduced waist size by several centimeters. The company is already in talks with a number of apparel makers and hopes to commercialize its technology as early as in next year’s spring or summer fashion season.

One of the things that have always fascinated and freaked me out about Japanese culture has got to be Cosplay. If you've been under a rock for the past ten years or just don't get out much, Cosplay is basically dressing up like your favorite anime character. Many cosplayers will probably hate that definition but it's pretty much true. Let's not deny it. While I'm freaked out about it, I'm really fascinated too, because I love Japanese anime, and well, if people are gonna dress up like some of the characters in my favorite animes, I might think it's pretty damn cool.

People spend a lot of time working on their costumes and outfits. And it's not even about halloween! You don't wear these outfits to a halloween party. These even may be the way that the people dress up in everyday life. Now seriously, I really find this crazy and alluring. But honestly, you'll never catch me in a Gundam uniform. Ever. Seriously.
